In short: essential cookies keep the site working; analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice any time.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They’re used to make sites work, remember preferences, and measure or personalise content and ads. Some are set by us; others by third parties such as Google.
The categories we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function (for example, security and remembering your light/dark preference). These don’t need consent and can’t be switched off.
Analytics (consent required)
Help us understand which articles are useful and how visitors find us — for example Google Analytics cookies such as _ga. Only set if you accept analytics.
Advertising (consent required)
If and when we run ads on the blog (e.g. Google AdSense), advertising cookies may be used to show and measure ads and, where you allow it, personalise them. Only set if you accept advertising.
Managing your choices
Today the site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. If we introduce them, you’ll see a consent banner on your first visit so you can accept or reject each category, and you’ll be able to change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings (this may affect how some sites work).
For ad personalisation specifically, see Google Ad Settings.
