Cookies & storage

Last updated: 5 September 2026

This website does not set cookies or use browser storage for analytics or advertising. No optional tracking technology is enabled by the site.

What happens in your browser

The navigation, FAQ and example bin selector use temporary page state. We do not save the choices or send them to a server. Our fonts and illustrations are hosted with the website.

Guide search downloads an index from this website and searches it on your device. Your browser may cache site files and search files to load them more quickly next time.

An earlier theme preference

A previous version of the site saved a light or dark appearance choice under bm-theme in local storage. This redesign does not read or write that setting. You can remove it by clearing this website’s data in your browser settings.

Hosting and external links

Our host processes technical requests to serve and secure the site. This is separate from browser cookies. If you follow an external link, that site’s own cookie and privacy practices apply. Read our website privacy policy for more information.

Your controls

You can clear cached files and site data using your browser settings. If we add any optional technology requiring consent, we will update this page and ask before enabling it.
