Get set up

Enter your UK postcode and choose your address.
BinMate checks for a supported collection schedule.
Allow notifications when asked, or skip and decide later.
Open Reminders, turn them on and choose your evening reminder time.

My address or schedule isn’t available

Check the postcode and try again. Some councils or addresses are not supported, and council systems can be temporarily unavailable. The app will tell you when it cannot find a reliable schedule. Contact us with your postcode, council name and the message shown. There is no need to send a full address initially.

A collection date looks wrong

Pull down on Home to refresh your saved schedule, then compare it with your council’s official collection page. Bank-holiday changes differ by council. If there is still a mismatch, send us the council page link, affected collection date and bin type.

My reminders aren’t arriving

In BinMate’s Reminders screen, make sure reminders are on and the time is correct.
In iPhone Settings → Notifications → BinMate, allow notifications.
Check whether Focus or Scheduled Summary is delaying the alert.
Open BinMate with an internet connection to refresh the schedule and upcoming reminders.

Allowing notification permission alone does not turn reminders on. Device settings and operating-system limits can affect delivery.

Add an iPhone widget

Home Screen widgets require Pro in the redesigned iPhone app. You can try a preview in Widget Studio before upgrading. To add an active widget, touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, choose Edit → Add Widget, then search for BinMate. Choose a size and add it. In BinMate’s Widget Studio, customise the colour and information shown. iOS controls when widgets refresh, so an update may take a little time to appear.

Pro, free trials and restoring purchases

Free includes your full schedule and one evening reminder. Pro adds Home Screen widgets and flexible reminders, including snooze and marking bins out. The app shows the current App Store annual price and a free trial only when the store confirms eligibility. The App Store purchase sheet confirms your offer before you agree to it.

Already purchased? Use Settings → Restore purchases with the Apple Account you used to buy Pro. Existing eligible lifetime purchases are recognised; you do not need to buy an annual subscription to restore them. If access is missing, check your connection and contact us before purchasing again.

Use Settings → Manage subscription in BinMate, or open your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions, to manage or cancel. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled. Cancel a free trial at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid a charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. For refund requests, visit Apple’s refund service.

I’ve moved house

Open Settings in BinMate and choose the address-change option. Enter your new postcode and select your new home. The redesigned app uses one selected home at a time.

Can I change the appearance?

Open Settings → Appearance and choose System, Light or Dark. Your selection is saved on the device.

Offline or using a new phone?

You can view a saved schedule offline, but setup and refresh need an internet connection. There is no BinMate account to sync across devices. On a new phone, you may need to set up your home and reminders again.

Privacy or deletion requests

Read your data choices or email contact@binmate.co.uk. Deleting the app does not automatically delete information held by us or our providers.
