You usually do not need the original paper calendar to recover your bin dates. Start with the council’s current address lookup or calendar-download page.
Find a current copy
Use the official collection finder, enter your full address and check the covered period. Search results can surface old PDFs, so look at the year and date range before saving one.
If your council offers a PDF, download it again. If it only shows the next collections online, save the page link and note the relevant dates. Our calendar guide explains downloads, imports and subscriptions.
If you need a printed or accessible version
Contact the waste team and ask what formats it can provide. Do not assume every council sends replacement printed calendars automatically. Explain whether you need large print, another accessible format or help with a communal service.
For a flat, ask the building manager whether the shared calendar or noticeboard has been updated. A previous resident’s copy may no longer describe the service.
Avoid recreating the wrong cycle
Write down the next actual date and waste type before making a repeating reminder. “Every other Thursday” is incomplete unless you know which Thursday starts the cycle. Check food and garden services separately.
Keep the council URL with your replacement copy. If the council announces a new schedule, replace the saved file or printed sheet rather than leaving two conflicting versions in use.
